Academic Results

  /    /  Academic Results

As a Junior school, the biggest academic measure for us is the SATs which are formal, externally marked exams which happen towards the end of Y6, typically in May. Children take tests in Reading, Maths and Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling. Writing is teacher assessed and can be moderated by the local authority.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent restrictions, there were no SATs in the academic year 2019-20. The same is true for 2020-21.

Highlights from the last set of data, 2018-19:

  • The three-year average reading attainment score was in the highest 20% nationally.
  • The three-year average mathematics attainment score was in the highest 20% nationally.
  • In 2018 and 2019, attainment of the high standard in mathematics was significantly above national and in the highest 20% of all schools.
