Physical Education and sport are valued very highly at Trafalgar.

We approach both with inclusion and mass-participation in mind, ensuring that all pupils have access to our rich offer.

Curriculum

We follow a skills-based approach to PE, focusing on not only physical and mental health benefits, but also the social benefits, ensuring that the needs of all children are met so that everyone can access all lessons.

Extra-curricular

Our sport offer also stretches far beyond school hours: we offer a wide range of before and after school clubs, every day, all year, including ‘Get in, Get Active‘ for each year group, table tennis and a weekly swimming club run by a qualified swimming teacher. In the 2021-2022 school year, over 200 children (67% of TJS pupils) were members of a sports club, including 62% of our girls.

Competitive fixtures

We have a fantastic sports culture at Trafalgar Juniors and value participation over everything else. Our inclusive approach to sports teams means we guarantee at least one competitive fixture to your child should they be a member of any sports club.

We also enter a wide variety of tournaments and leagues, meaning an abundance of competitive fixtures against other schools in sports such as football, tennis, cricket, athletics, basketball, tag rugby, tennis and even American football.
